In honor of National Poetry Month, I am Reblogging one poet I find amazing every day. This poet is incredibly graphic and amazing and powerful and needs to be heard with an open mind and heart. Yes adult language, but fitting in context and completely real.

For every person who feels enslaved by the idea of being “pretty”. (Just a warning, she curses once toward the end of the poem. Not recommended for younger audiences.)
In honor of National Poetry month, I would like to Reblog at least one of my favorite WordPress Poets every day this month. The first being James Meredith from the land of James Joyce and his poem for April Fools day, Ha Ha (two haiku). I always enjoy reading his poetry and I know you will too, so be sure to give your self some time to look around his blog. It is really beautiful.

Dear You know who:
I wish I could write you or call you and tell you how much you hurt me, but I won’t, Because you would ignore it and all my voice messages and emails would become a joke.
I wish you knew how I felt, but you won’t because you don’t acknowledge my feelings at all.
I don’t want to hurt you, and I don’t want to hurt anymore.
So I am walking away. I wonder how long it will take you to notice. If you do, I will say “Oh someone must have hacked my facebook page, I noticed my friend count went down about 20 but I did not notice you were gone.” Because that is what hackers do, cut facebook friends instead of um ….. I don’t know trying to find credit card numbers or something, Oh…. Crazy hackers.
But lets face it, you won’t.
And my heart will grow a little more calloused or …
Maybe it won’t. Maybe I will go on living and heal. You will never know.
One thing I know is, you will never know how much you hurt me, because I will never send this. You will never know what a horrible person you are until someone who means more to you then I did tells you. Probably allot of other people.
So there you have it. Sometimes the best revenge is letting someone live out the rest of their life not knowing why everyone hates them.
Hugs and Kisses,
Betty G

Yeah, that’s the question I asked myself too: Who the hell is Betty Generic?
I had been following the blog of Betty Generic for some time because I loved the way she wrote a haiku a day based on the view out her bedroom window. Even though Betty Generic’s views were mainly of snow covered branches, there seemed to be quite a similarity between the tree shapes in her garden and mine. Day after day, she produced these beautiful haiku and then the twist came. She suddenly asked the world for help in writing her ‘bio.’ All she had up to that point was: Oh you know me, and in a way I felt I did~ at least I knew the view from her bedroom window, wherever that was.
Boldness and curiosity got the better of me and in my sociologist’s cloak and I wrote saying that I’d love…
